Drivetrain Performance Part 2:
Hypertech Power Programmer III AIRAID Intake System

As I mentioned in the K&N Filtercharger® article, performance without substituting economy was my primary goal. Improving air flow with the AIRAID Intake System is one of the most inexpensive, and obvious power gaining add-ons.
Available for '99 to 2000 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L trucks. This system produces 12 horsepower over the stock air-box unit! AIRAID's exclusive BFA (Billet Filter Adapter) tremendously improves airflow directly into the intake system. Added features include the CAD (Cool Air Dam), which helps to isolate excessive hot air away from the filter and provide a much denser airflow charge. What About Installation? AIRAID claims the installation only takes 30 minutes, here's how we did it:
First off , loosen the hose clamp between the airbox and the intake boot.
Next, remove the air boot from the air box assembly.
It it suggested to remove the airbox lid; which eases the removal of the airbox assembly.
The airbox is only held in place by means of two friction pins; of which simply pull the airbox upward, and the pins should easily release form the metal base.
There are 4 bolts that hold the metal base plate in place; remove them with a 10mm socket.
