Moab, Utah ~ The 2004 Easter Jeep Safari is about in full swing here in the off-road mecca of Moab, Utah. ORC staffers arrived on Sunday morning after an easy drive from the UROC Pro-National Series event in Vernal, Utah. The sun shined through broken clouds throughout the day so we made our way over to the infamous "Potato Salad Hill." Ah yes, carnage on the hill. You just never know what you're in for when you roll up on the crowd at PSH...and we weren't surprised by what we found.

It was no surprise when we ran into UROC Pro-National Series competitor Bart Jacobs on the hill as he was hooked up with Brad Kilby of Kilby Enterprises. Jacobs was on hand with his competition vehicle that he towed down for a day of wheeling at EJS.

ORC staffers also ran into the Daimler-Chrysler engineers who were at PSH with the newest Jeep. Barely out of the box, this vehicle was shipped into Moab, Utah from Michigan specifically for this event. However, they were not willing to put the stock vehicle on PSH and rage towards the top like the other dare-devils in the crowd.

Jeep's newest and latest public development

Although the light crowd at Potato Salad Hill is no indication of the Jeep party that is about to kick off, you can expect this town to be rockin' by Wednesday evening. Downtown was busy as a steady stream of tow vehicles trailing everything from a 2004 Rubicon to a garage-built tube-frame jalopy arrived here in Moab ready to rock.

Potato Salad Hill...almost ready to rock!!!

We also spotted all the paparrazzi preparing for the latest look at competition rigs and the latest gear available to the Jeep-ing public. You can barely walk down Main Street without running into your favorite photographer or writer of all the famous online and print magazines. And of course the King Pirate of the Rubicon, "FatBastard"-whose not fat by any means, is raging off the hook here in the middle of the rockcrawling capital of the West.

The Moab Po-Po on the loose at EJS...

Afterwhile, we broke away from Main street fiesta and caught up with the boys of Texas at Lion's Back. The lineup was short but the crowd was growing as a Texas longhorn said, "Piece of cake...I'll go up backwards so I don't have to turn around on top." Moments later he was strapped in the driver seat with white knuckles and heading up the easy obstacle. We laughed and said, "Hold on Mr. Longhorn ~ Normie is on the way!" Lion's Back is the typical stand around and wait for something to happen event...and it didn't take us long to get real bored watching those Texans mosey up the stone fin.

Around the corner we found the boys from ClaytonOffRoad.com crew playing on the Bump Dump. They also had just arrived to Easter Jeep Safari from the Vernal UROC event. These guys toted all their rigs to Moab and were holed up the at Motel 6 on the north end of town. The party was where?

Zak-Wood Fired Pizza was off the hook as the San Diego Fire Department crew took up 35 seats in the outside seating area. A well-deserved break after a horrible fire season in Southern California. Rock on boyz and have fun!

ORC staffers will be around here and there as the action at Moab rages in the annual Easter Jeep Safari.

We'll be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!! Look for us cruising the rocks in The Desert Tank in search of a romp with Fat Bastard's newest Dodge Ram Cummins...bring it on!!!
