Replacement seats Continued

Project Blazin'

It took about 6 weeks for the new seats to arive. This was longer than the three weeks estimated but much better than my previous Flofit experience. There was 4 boxes, one for each seat and a 4th for the brackets and head rests.

Everything was in good shape except for a small chip in one corner of the console.

I really like the console and the large cup holes. You can actually put something other than the standard pop can in the drink holder. The popup lid gives room for change and other assorted small stuff that can be reached much easier than the glove box.

The seats have a very simple mounting system with each needing a bracket with 4 holes to mount it down.
So I start by stripping everything out. See the story on replacement carpeting, as I decided to do this at the same time. I get the brackets out and soon discover they are not even close to what I need. My floor is basically flat and the brackets I had are made to mount to a curved floor. So I call up Salesco and they say you should have specified "K5 Blazer" not just Blazer. They give me the number of the manufacturer, Eurotech, and ask me to call them for the correct brackets. Well about two weeks lator and numerous phone calls I finnally get some brackets that look like they might work, they don't. More calls to the manufacturer and after trying to explain the difference I finally give up and decide to modify the ones I have. I spent a whole day getting these brackets modified to work, including a trip to the local welding shop, but finally had working seat brackets. So much for the 20 minute bolt in.
