Banks Ram-Air® Intake System provides huge air density gains and increases flow by 42% over stock
AZUSA, CA— Gale Banks Engineering today introduced its new Ram-Air intake system. Flowbench developed and dyno proven, the Banks Ram-Air intake makes the most power of any diesel air intake system offered. Banks’ Ram Air systems are available for 6.6L Duramax LLY and LB7 trucks: 5.9L Cummins; and 6.0L Power Stroke versions will soon follow. The Banks Ram-Air intake system adds up to +39 hp and +69 lb-ft at the rear wheels, when combined with Banks Six-Gun® Diesel Tuner.

The Banks Ram-Air intake system is a revolutionary design, which consists of a hanging Banks high-flow 360° 8-layer filter – the largest filter area in the industry – with a huge 7 ⅛-inch outlet; a shielded cold-air box; the market’s only 4 ½- inch bellows to accommodate engine movement; and a streamlined intake path with a wide-open inlet that virtually eliminates any intake restriction. As a result, the system offers 42% better airflow than stock, and is fully enclosed from the engine compartment to keep hot, underhood ambient air out of the intake.

“Air density is power,” said Gale Banks, president of Gale Banks Engineering. “Our Ram Air intake system offers the reliability and durability of the factory intake, but with significant gains in air density. It’s not a ‘filter-on-a-stick’ design that others offer. We’ve tested other available intake systems and found that some actually reduce airflow and power compared to stock.” The Banks system is designed to work with stock sensors, and tested to not generate trouble codes in stock and modified power output levels.
