Chevrolet recently announced pricing for its Chevrolet Colorado extended-cab pickup, which features an entry-level MSRP of $20,995, including an $875 dealer freight charge.

The new light-duty Colorado pickup will feature a 200-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection and continuously variable valve timing for what Chevy says provides strong midrange torque. The entry-level Coloardo’s 200-hp four-cylinder will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. It will also feature power windows, a rear-vision camera with dynamic “guide lines” to aid in reverse, and for added security it will feature a locking tailgate.

“Colorado is an all-new midsize pickup that offers truck customers great versatility and great value,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “It will also have strong appeal for people who know they want a truck, but want one that is easier to maneuver in traffic and easier to park at work or at home.”

Although pricing is not yet available for the other optional powerplant, the new Colorado will also have the option of a 305-horsepower 3.6-liter V6, which Chevy notes also features direct fuel injection and variable valve timing like the four-cylinder. The V-6, however, differs from the four-cylinder by being mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The V6-equipped Colorado will also feature a 4G LTE built-in WiFi hotspot. A new Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning will help inform drivers of potential hazards as well.

Chevy also notes the V6 trim will features the GearOn accessory system, which is a newly designed storage system will multiple configuration options to bikes, paddleboards and other outdoor-related gear.

The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado will be offered in two cab configurations that include an extended-cab and crew-cab options. The crew-cab Colorado will offer a choice of either a 5- or 6-foot box, while the extended-cab models will come equipped with a 6-foot box.

While the pricing for the complete Colorado line will not be available until later in the year, Chevrolet did provide some additional insight into the cost of a few other Colorado models. The LT crew cab with 2WD and the 5-foot box, for instance, will have a starting price (including dealer freight) of $27,985. Chevrolet also announced pricing on the Colorado Z71 crew cab 4x4 with the 5-foot box, which will start at $34,990.

Chevrolet says the 2015 Colorado will be available in dealerships in the fall of this year. Chevy also says detailed pricing and the EPA fuel economy numbers will be available closer to launch.
