The Superlift ProROCK National rockcrawling championship series is coming to Farmington New Mexico May 1 & 2. From the seriously modified to full custom modified buggies - Chokecherry Canyon has the outrageous obstacles that test the most serious 4x4's. Huge bolder's & steep cliffs will test man and machine. Check out the pre-event action below. Competition starts Saturday morning at 8:00 AM, May 1. On site tickets for this televised event are $10 per person. Kids under 12 are free.

With tech inspection starting at noon so several of the competitors came to the event site for last minute adjustments and testing. Shannon Campbell was warming up on the rocks in his hot new LS1 powered single seater. After seeing how well the rig he built for Mitch Guthrie did, he decided to build another for himself!
Howard Hunter (above left) and Pete Norris (above right) both from Tanner 4WD/Rocky Mountain Extreme do some final tire pressure adjustments to see what hooks up best on the Chokecherry Canyon rocks.
In an effort to help mitigate the impact of people on the land, ProRock brought out a graffiti removal crew complete with a cool war era Kaiser to clean up the rocks.

Phil Collard (above) and the ProROCK team make a few last minute changes to the event course. Phil is known for designing courses that really challenge the drivers without destroying the rigs in the process.

Miss Melon (right) waits for a hot dog handout!

Tech inspection will be held Friday from noon to 5 pm at the American Car Care Center 1606 20th ave in Farmington. Free hot dogs, soda and autographs, so stop on by and meet the drivers before the event.

With clear skies and 60 - 70 degree weather forecast, it's going to be a great weekend for rock crawling!

"Tiny", All Pro's Nelson & Nelson built buggy turned the rock crawling industry on it's ear last year. This year, many competitors are rushing to build rigs similar to Tiny. These rigs often feature a single seat cage, offset to the left side. Low and to the left creates a blind spot near the right rear tire. Several rigs showed up with right side "cone" mirrors.
