New CD Ignition from Crane Cams has Built-In Dual Stage Rev Limiter

Launching a drag race vehicle takes a combination of ingredients, including a state-of-the-art ignition system that has multiple RPM limiters. Crane's innovative HI-6DSR Dual Stage Rev Limiter CD Ignition fulfills this need perfectly.

The dual-stage rev limiter can be preset from 600 to 9,900 RPM using big rotary switches instead of inaccurate “chips”. The click-in detents are preset for precise 100-RPM increments.

Crane’s HI-6DSR Dual Stage Rev Limiter CD Ignition (part no. 6000-6424), available for use in 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines, features a higher spark-gap current than comparable digital ignitions to improve performance for race or street engines in excess of 14.5:1 compression ratios, or in turbo- and super-charged applications. It also features a Crane exclusive – Cross-Fire Protection – to ensure that each timed spark reaches the proper spark plug. Tests have shown significant increases in horsepower, torque and throttle response when using Crane’s new CD ignition.

Crane Gold Race roller rockers are available in a wide variety of configurations, including ratios, offsets and stud sizes, including for shaft mount Chrysler and pedestal-mount Fords. They are available in sets or individually packed. Because of their race heritage, installing Crane Gold Race roller rockers usually requires screw-in studs or rocker stud conversion kits and may require modification of stock valve covers for clearance.

As an added feature, built-in flashing codes take the guesswork out of troubleshooting. Crane HI-6DSR ignition boxes continuously check for problems in the coil, ground, power supply, wiring, and the box itself! You can even check your tachometer accuracy!

Special soft urethane has been added to surround (or “pot”) components and provide extra protection against heat, dirt, moisture and vibration. The appropriate low profile, lightweight E-core LX92 coil, with black aluminum mounting bracket, is also available from Crane (part no. 730-0892).
