Not
including special snowcheck only models, Polaris has stepped to the plate
this year with 40+ different sled models. And don't be fooled by the fact
that some of them share the same names as previous years models, they
sport more than just bold new graphics.
Polaris continues to work hard to improve performance, quality, comfort and looks across their product line. Every 600, 700 and 800 powered machine in the '04 Polaris lineup has the liquid cooled Liberty engine with Variable Exhaust System (VES) and Grafal-coated pistons. Lots of big words which translate into a motor platform which delivers gobs of smooth, reliable power in a durable package. The 700 and 800 have a compression release feature which reduces starting effort by as much as 35%. You'll thank Polaris on those cold mornings. And the 700 and 800 also come with Detonation Elimination Technology (DET) which helps protect the engine in poor fuel quality situations. New last year on a very select few models, but expanded to a larger portion of the product line is the Polaris Electric Reverse Control (PERC). We've used it and it is a wonderful reverse implementation adding no weight to the machine and working flawlessly. Other OEMs still using mechanical reverse suffer a 17+lb disadvantage. Other features that we are very glad to see on the different models in this year's lineup include possibly the best OEM ski available, broad track selections, TEAM roller clutches, Walker Evans shocks, Dual Purpose Rails, adjustable backrests, Phantom brake, Hi/Low fuel octane switch, Fast M-10 ACE suspension and improved storage capacity.
