The Baddest Jeep JK, New Trophy Truck and Bitchin Bronco from Off-Road Expo

Oct. 03, 2008 By Craig Perronne
We have only been walking around for a couple hours at Off-Road Expo in Pomona, California and have already spotted some of the baddest race trucks, trail rigs and Jeep around. Every time we turn around there is another vehicle for us to shoot and we have barely scratched the surface!

Over in the Dirt Sports booth we spotted what has to be the trickest JeepSpeed racer we have ever seen. A recent Masterpiece in Metal featured in the September issue of Dirt Sport, the Jeep Rubicon JK was built by the guys at Rubicon Express. It features a big ole honking engine with over 600 horsepower and super spendy Bilstein Black Hawk shocks on every corner. With a price tag around $3,000 each for the Bilsteins the crew probably could have bought another used Jeep. After drooling over the JK profusely we noticed that there is very little left of the actual Rubicon. While the doors function just like a normal Jeep, it is all fiberglass from the cab to the rear. It looks like it would be a blast to beat on out in the desert.

Also in the Dirt Sports booth is the infamous Project Retro Bronco which is thankfully finally complete. Owner Ron DeWolf spent an untold fortune on the Bronco but it came out beautifully thanks to a lot of hard work by the crew at Speed Unlimited. Jaw dropping fabrication is everywhere along with a custom hood, fenders, bedsides and top by Fiberwerx. Everything is bitchin about this Bronco but we especially like the beautiful stretch job along with the custom and much wider TTB arms by Speed Unlimited.

Outlaw Offroad has on display their trick Trophy Truck in their booth. It simply looks badass and we were surprised to see three seats stuffed in the Ford F-150 body. We have yet to talk to them about the truck but rest assured it has the typical bump-goobling oodles of wheel travel (we are guessing around 24 inches in the front and 36 in the rear) along with mega horsepower. It also features a massive rearend built for some serious abuse along with a rack of the new PIAA HID lights for plenty of candlepower.
