Moab EJS 2010: MasterCraft Safety Trail Run

Ride, Relax and Re-connect in Moab's Rocks

Apr. 01, 2010 By Jaime Hernandez
The MasterCraft Safety VIP run was led by Clifton Slay from American Rock Rods.

Master Craft Safety held a VIP run at Moab during the 44th Annual Easter Jeep Safari. Robby Pierce, the Master of MasterCraft Safety, invited friends and off-road industry partners for a day of fun on the rocks. Led by Clifton Slay of American Rock Rods, a select group of Jeeps met early in the morning on the North side of Moab's Golden Rim Trail.

The Mashed Potato hills did look appetizing to most of the Jeeps on our run. The BFGs on the MasterCraft Jeep weren't shy about taking a bite.

The MasterCraft JK Jeep, fully equipped with the latest Rubicon suspension seats, sport handles, and tool totes, was in the front of the pack with Clifton Slay--leading us on hybrid trail made up of sections from different trails near Gold Bar Rim. It consisted of dirt, obstacles in the "mashed potato" hills, plenty of slick rock, and then a dunk in the tub above a 400ft cliff. It was fun.

J.B. from Off Road Warehouse was out in Moab this year with his Jeep Cherokee having fun.

MASTERCRAFT SAFETY - MOAB RUN

The run was short and sweet--perfect for those that still needed to get back to the Spanish Trail Arena to set-up for the vendor show scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Rockstar Energy Drinks were available for those needing an extra bump from a long night of Moab parties and working on broken rigs.

We got the chance to ride with J.R. from Skyjacker Suspension in their Jeep JK featuring the Skyjacker long-arm kit. There was plenty of flex and great articulation on the trail. It also did well on dirt roads and the highway coming back into town.

The trail packed in enough challenges for everyone to get their crawl on. There was a wide variety of terrain and beautiful vistas of the Moab desert and red rock canyons. On this day, a big storm was heading south from Salt Lake City down into the Grand County area. The wind was picking up and dark clouds were rolling into Moab Valley.

We would like to thank Ryan from RCH Designs for organizing such a great run, Robbie for the invite and Clifton for leading us on the rocks. Good times.
