1984 Suzuki RM 250

Nov. 01, 2005 By ORC STAFF

What a difference one year can make! The 1984 RM 250 was Suzuki's 250cc motocross comeback bike.

Power: The '84 RM 250 engine created respectable, smooth overall power. There was one problem however. The power was a bit weak for expert racing.

Suspension: The forks worked better than the rear suspension! The '84's RM's rear suspension wasn't real supple on small bumps. Other than that, the Full-Floater rear could take any hit!

Handling: The steering rake was pulled in several degrees for 1984. It turned very well but not Honda like. Guess what else? It was stable at speed too! Overall, the RM 250 was a comfortable bike to ride.

Reliability: The RM 250 was reliable. Nothing major seemed to go bad on this model.

Odds & Ends: The two air filter arrangement did not appear on this years model! The brakes were drum style and were a little weak. The '84 RM 250 can make a good trail/play bike!
