CHARLOTTE – (April 2, 2009) – Motocross legend Carey Hart of PMG Racing is joining Team General Tire to race in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series.  Hart will debut under Team General Tire in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing series April 4-5 at the Primm Valley Motorsports Complex, Primm, NV. He will compete in the Unlimited 2 class on General Tire’s Grabber competition tires in size 35x12.50R17.

“We are pumped to have Carey joining Team General Tire for the upcoming short course season,” said Dana Zamalloa, PR and communications manager, General Tire. “Carey has an aggressive driving style and ambitious personality; he is a perfect fit for team GT. We are building an incredible off-road team for 2009 and we are excited to have him onboard.”

Hart began his career as an amateur motocross racer as a teen, and since then, his list of accomplishments has continued to grow. Aside from his many wins, he performed the first-ever full back-flip, dubbed the “Hart Attack,” on a 250cc bike at the 2000 Gravity Games. More recently, Hart has opened a chain of successful tattoo shops and has become a television personality.

“I’m really looking forward to conquering another aspect of racing.  Racing is my passion and short course is the next logical step in my career,” Hart said.
