Carmichael And Ramsey Finish 1 - 2 In Houston

Honda Racing's Ricky Carmichael is in a zone. The current 2001 EA Sports Supercross champ rocketed through Houston's Astrodome to claim his 5th main event win in a row moving him closer to the coveted 2002 Supercross title. Carmichael now has a 17 point lead in the series. Red Rider Nathan Ramsey put his CRF450R on the podium with a strong second place finish behind fellow teammate Ricky Carmichael after leading the first part of the race. Houston marks Ramsey's first podium in AMA EA Sports 250cc Supercross competition. His accomplishment also gave Honda's CRF450R 4-stroke motocross machine it's first ever podium in Supercross competition. Congratulations to Ramsey for an outstanding ride! Honda Racing's Ernesto Fonseca finished the main event in a respectable 6th place finish overall. Blackfoot Honda's Heath Voss and Moto XXX / Honda mounted Kyle Lewis cracked the 250cc main event top 10 with a 7th and 9th place finish. Lewis is competing on a Honda CRF450R. Red Rider Sebastien Tortelli bruised his back in practice at Round 10 in New Orleans and decided not to race Houston. Tortelli should return for Round 12 in St. Louis on April 6. Amsoil / Dr. Marten / Journeys / Honda Racing's Mike LaRocco is still recovering from a broken right wrist he sustained in Minneapolis. LaRocco is undergoing a strong rehabilitation program to get his wrist back to 100%. Amsoil / Dr. Marten /
Journeys / Honda Racing's Travis Preston and Chris Gosselaar both had a great
night in the 125 West Coast main event. Preston finished a solid 2nd place and
Gosselaar crossed the checkered flag in 5th place. Preston is currently running
in 2nd place in the 125 West Coast points standings.
