Sara Price Scores Top 5 in Texas

Jun. 08, 2010 By Press Release
Monster Energy Kawasaki's Sara Price finished fifth in the second race of the Motorcylce-USA.com WMX at Freestone Raceway in Wortham, Texas. Though Price is continuing to recover from a shoulder injury, the 17-year-old motocross star was able to score a 5-5 result and finish fifth in the Texas heat.

Price came into Texas looking to improve on her results from the opening round. Across the board she showed improvement as she continued to battle a shoulder injury. In the first moto, she moved up to fifth place and in the second moto, she nearly claimed the holeshot.

"I didn't get a very good start in the first moto, but I moved up to fifth place," said Price. "In the second moto I had a pretty good start, but my shoulder wasn't where it needed to be to maintain a good pace. I know I can run up front with everyone and I know I should be on the podium."

With her shoulder injury, Price has been forced to trim her training program in order to heal properly. While she continued her cardio and conditioning work, Price was unable to really get much practice time in as she was only able to ride for two days before heading to Texas.

"The injury is getting better," said Price. "I have been rehabbing my shoulder a lot lately and I've been working hard to get it back to 100%. Right now it is only about 65%, and my shoulder got really tired during the motos. The injury has kept me from training the way I want to. We have three weeks before the next race so I should be all healed and I should get all the training I need to get back on top of my game."

With Price's move to the factory tent, it means a chance to race some of the top equipment in the pits. Price runs a Pro Circuit prepared Kawasaki KX™250F and works closely with both the Monster Energy Kawasaki and Monster/Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki teams to make sure the bike is dialed in.

"My Kawasaki KX250F is amazing," said Price. "The whole Monster Energy Kawasaki team has really been great for me. Pro Circuit has built an amazing bike. I go into a whoop section and the suspension just soaks it all up. The power is spot on, it's not underpowered or overpowered. The front end is just always light."
