Bryce Menzies kept the Pro 2 field behind him to earn the victory at Round 13.

The Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series headed to Las Vegas this past weekend for Rounds 13 and 14 of the 2014 season, but the action on the track was halted short after bad weather forced the an early stop to the races. Round 13 was completed on Friday nights under the lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but with lightening and rain forced an early stop to racing on Saturday night for Round 14.

Although the finish was a bit controversial in Pro 4, Doug Fortin earned the top spot on the podium at Round 13.

Even without the threat of bad weather for Round 13 offered up some competitive and controversial racing. Pro 4 saw the point leader Kyle LeDuc take a turn wrong and take out brother Todd in the process. Rob MacCachren made a late-race pass on Doug Fortin to take the lead before the checkered flag, but the pass was controversially deemed too hard and he was given a black flag, which gave the win to Fortin and put MacCachren back in the pack.

Jerett Brooks held off Sheldon Creed and RJ Anderson to earn the Pro Lite win on Friday.

In Pro 2, Bryce Menzies took the lead early and really never looked back. Rob MacCachren was able to make up for his Pro 4 penalty and finished on the podium in second, while Brian Deegan was able to continue his season-long podium streak alive by finishing in third.

The Rockstar girls let the crowd know the race is ready to go.

Pro Lite offered up some jam-packed racing with its full field, though the race was halted and retorted a few times after full-course cautions forced restarts. Once the dirt cleared and the final flag waved, Jerret Brooks took the win ahead of Sheldon Creed and RJ Anderson, respectively.

Rob MacCachren had a controversial black flag called on him for an aggressive pass at the of the Pro 4 race. MacCachren rebounded to earn a solid second-place finish in Pro 2 later that night.

In Pro Buggy, Chad George found redemption after a rough weekend of racing in Reno. George didn’t have an easy race, but his eventual victory makes him nearly impossible to catch for the season championship. Finishing behind George in second place was David Mason, while Mike Valentine rounded out the podium in third.

RJ Anderson kept himself in the mix in Pro Lite with a third-place finish on Friday.

With Round 14 racing being called due to weather, Lucas Oil said it will make up the round of racing at the final race of the season, the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup, later next month. For more information on the series, visit LucasOilOffRoad.com.
