Ken Flippin Jr. eeeked
out a fifth place finish in Class 10. Low on dust, but high on
casualties, the SNORE course took it's toll on the
field. |
|
Kyle Whiffed kicks up
his heels. The rocky course resulted in plenty of airborne antics
throughout the day. |
|
Greer & Fodrill
took thier Jimco to a 3rd place finish in the Unlimited class.
Whats this rumor floating around that drivers prefer the older
car? |
|
John Gaughan went on to
3rd in the unlimited ranks. Checker Power - always there when you
need it!. |
|
Groke & Collins
teamed up in the truk boddied buggy to clinch 1st unlimited and
first overall at the Buffalo Bill's 400. Impressive showing for a
maiden voyage dont ya' think? |
|
High attrition, rocks, and wheel to wheel racing
characterized the 99 Snore Buffalo Bill's 400 in Stateline Nevada,
in an event that saw both vets and "newcomers" take the coveted top
positions.
The overall champs, Groke and Collins found sucess
with a "truggy", but this one came with a twist. Rather than go the
Truck without a body route, the winning combo proved to be a body
without a truck! The fiberglass S-10 shell covered a tried and true
traditional buggy that proved that it had the right stuff to take
it all home to daddy.
In Class 10, Dan Bentley, Bob Mathews took the final flag over the likes of
Whit Courtnay and Steve McMullen in a hard fought battle in the 12
car feild.
Freeman nemesis Robby Guerara found familiar
surroundings in the winners circle, while arch rival and SCORE
Class 1/2-1600 champ Bekki was shut out of the top 3 back in 5th
place.
In Class 9, the dominant force known as Ryan Schank
proved once again why he was top of the class 9 heap in 98. Is
somebody gonna beat this guy or what? 23 tried, none were
sucessful.
Class 5/1600 saw Greg Price, Mike Powada, Krisanne Steele, and Keith Sondej
team up to top the 11 car feild. The turnout in SNORE's Class 9 and
%/16 cars has been on a steadt upswing, This bodes well for
competitive racing in the limited clases.
Overall, the Buffalo Bill's 400 was just what you'd
expect in a SNORE race. Competitive, well run, and a lot of fun to
attend. Now if we could just get SNORE , SCORE and BITD to swallow
a little pride and schedule thier races on different weekend, the
turnout would certainly be much higher....and that ain't nothing
but good for everyone involved.
