Ricky Johnson qualified fastest in yesterday's qualifying for today's Frozen Rush race.
What do you get when you mix ski slopes with some of the best short-course off-road drivers in the world? Red Bull Frozen Rush, of course, an event that puts trucks Pro 4-style trucks to the test on a unique course built on the slopes of Sunday River Resort in Newry, Maine.
The Red Bull Frozen Rush has returned again for the new year, and the out-of-the-box race is the type of event weve become accustomed to from the folks at Red Bull. Timed qualifying was held yesterday to determine starting spots for todays race. Nine racers are entered into the event, and it was the 2014 inaugural race winner Ricky Johnson who laid down the fastest time, just edging out last years winner in Bryce Menzies. Scott Douglas laid down the third-fastest time yesterday.

Scott Douglas was third in qualifying yesterday behind Ricky Johnson and Bryce Menzies.
Yesterdays qualifying leads up to todays main event, with race action starting this morning at 11:30 a.m. EST. The event can actually be watched live thanks to Red Bull, whove created a landing page at www.redbull.com/frozenrush. If you arent abet to catch the action or cant sneak in a few minutes while at work, dont fret because well have a recap of the action here on Off-Road.com as well.
