What do you get when you mix ski slopes with some of the best short-course off-road drivers in the world? Red Bull Frozen Rush, of course, an event that puts trucks Pro 4-style trucks to the test on a unique course built on the slopes of Sunday River Resort in Newry, Maine.

The Red Bull Frozen Rush has returned again for the new year, and the out-of-the-box race is the type of event we’ve become accustomed to from the folks at Red Bull. Timed qualifying was held yesterday to determine starting spots for today’s race. Nine racers are entered into the event, and it was the 2014 inaugural race winner Ricky Johnson who laid down the fastest time, just edging out last year’s winner in Bryce Menzies. Scott Douglas laid down the third-fastest time yesterday.

Yesterday’s qualifying leads up to today’s main event, with race action starting this morning at 11:30 a.m. EST. The event can actually be watched live thanks to Red Bull, who’ve created a landing page at www.redbull.com/frozenrush.
