This past weekend, the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Southern California played host to the final races of the 2015 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series. Class championships were on the line in many classes, with Saturday’s Round 17 races deciding who would take home the title for 2015.

Pro 4 is one of the few classes where a championship actually wasn’t decided in Lake Elsinore, as Kyle LeDuc, winner of 12 of 16 races this season (rain-delayed Round 10 was not rescheduled), wrapped up his 2014 title defense at the last races in Las Vegas. In Round 17, LeDuc finished second behind Rob MacCachren, while Bryce Menzies wrapped up the final podium spot in third.

In the Pro 2 class, MacCachren looked to complete his 2015 title run in the class, as he entered the last regular-season race with a 23-point lead over Menzies. Although Patrick Clark managed to navigate traffic to earn the win at Round 17, MacCachren did take home the title with his second-place finish. Rounding out the podium was Carl Renezeder in third.

At the start of day on Saturday, RJ Anderson held a 12-point lead over Jerett Brooks, and as it turned out, neither of the racers were able to finish on the podium at the finale regular-season race. Brad DeBerti, Brandon Arthur and Brock Heger were the top three finishers, respectively, at Round 17. Although Brooks finished in fourth, Anderson’s seventh-place finish was enough for him to earn the 2015 Pro Lite Championship in what will likely be his final year in the class.

In Pro Buggy, Garrett George entered the day with a 25-point lead over cousin Chad George, and he cemented his title with a second-place finish at the final round. Sterling Cling went on to win the Round 17 race, while Mike Valentine earned the bronze.

With the championship battles all sorted out, Sunday hosted the Lucas Oil Cup Races. Boasting big prizes and packed starting lines, these final races are some of the most exciting of the season.

The Pro 2 vs. Pro 4 Challenge Cup pits the Pro 2 class, which gets a head start, against the Pro 4 trucks with a $30,000 first prize on the line. When the dust cleared, it was Carl Renezeder who earned the massive first-place check, edging out Eric Fitch ($15,000) in second and Robby Woods ($7,500) in third.

Brandon Arthur took home the $10,000 first-place check for the Pro Lite Challenge Cup. Second place went to Doug Mittag, who earned $5,000 for his efforts, while Jeff Hoffman rounded out the podium to take home the $2,500 third-place check. In the Pro Buggy Challenge Cup, Taylor Atchison earned the $10,000 first-place check after holding off Dave Mason in second, who earned $5,000 for his efforts. After earning the class championship the day prior, Garrett George finished his season with the third-place Cup finish to earn an additional $2,500.

With the 2015 LOORRS season wrapped up, teams can now take a breather, finishing building new race trucks for next season, and take a well-deserved break before actions starts again for 2016.
