It's HOT!
The contingency row festivities start in just 90 minutes and
last 'till 10pm. We're setup on Water Street in beautiful downtown
Henderson. The thermometer in the Great White Off-Road.com Truck
has not budged off of 120 degrees for hours. We welcome our fellow
lovers of heat, dirt and sweat with a hearty 'Welcome to
Hell!'.
Watch for updates throughout
the afternoon and evening.

It's Still Hot!
Most of the racers are contemplating the heat and
forming strategies either mental or logistical. Overall, the theme
is "it's not as hot as last year" and "this year we are prepared".
The local Walmart has sold out of small kiddie pools. The word is
that many racers will fill the pools with blocks of ice and water
to keep the crews cool and to cool the driving teams at stops.
|
Racers line up early
The crowds are building as the thermometer takes it's
first trek downward from 120 degrees.
|
Certainly the idea of holding contingency in the
late afternoon and into the evening is bringing out the crowds. The
mood is upbeat and on the rise.

Alan would go!
The pit crew competition simply rocked! The crowds

to place well.
|
|
La Bamba
Just west of the radical of the pit crew competition
was "the band with no name", belting out "La Bamba" and many more
of the songs we all know by heart.

Devon, from Las Vegas proudly wears the most

Got Chip? Got Map!
Our pal "The Map" at PCI has the entire race course
in her teeth. That little chip is soon to "be the way" that a race
team finds themselves down the course and away from BLM penalties
and angry ranchers.

|
Entreprenuer of Heat
Relief!
Shelby Steinberger cornered the market on heat relief
by buying every "squeeze spray" device at the local K-Mart and
Walmart and then reselling same for a 100% profit in the 100+
degree heat of Henderson, NV.

Not the liberal trype you see on TV but, real life
