2007 SCORE Laughlin: Saturday Race Updates
2007 SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge
Class 1 Finale
The last race of the day was Class 1. With 46 Class 1 unlimited cars on the track, it was an afternoon that gave the fan filled stands and hills something to talk about. At the front of the start were #101 Byron Ashley, #102 Ronny Wilson, #103 Adam Pfankuch, and #104 Vincent DeJong. Last year’s Laughlin race winner #111 Mark Weyhrich was starting in eleventh place. In lap 1, the 2007 Laughlin Leap winner #100 Larry Roseller in the Terrible Herbst Truggy had to pull out of the race. Mechanical problems did not let the #100 Truggy get back on the track. #102 Ronny Wilson had moved up to the front, with #103 Adam Pfankuch in second, and #104 Vicent DeJong in third. Heading into lap 3 the traffic had to be diverted around #138. Jay Scott’s car had rolled after the first jump, and was now blocking the course. Fast forward to lap 5, the leader was still #102 Ronny Wilson, followed by #103 Adam Pfankuch, and #108 B.J. Richardson. Rolling with the pack was #159 Jennifer Clemison in the DAMZL Class 1. This girl can hang with the boys. The checkered flag at the finish line went to #102 Ronny Wilson, followed by #103 Adam Pfankuch, and #104 Vicent DeJong. The race was so close that we will have to wait for SCORE to call the official winner. *Official results to follow from SCORE
