  • During the race, we'll be monitoring the PCI Race Radio Weather Man, Bob Steinberger, for updates that we'll post on our Baja 1000 main page.
  • Check for more updates as the race draws near.
GREAT WHITE
The very truck that brought you non-stop coverage of the legendary Baja 2000, will take command of the Baja Peninsula for this year's Baja 1000. It's being equipped with the latest in satelite technology from our friends at MotoSat. With this, we'll have the capability of uploading video clips, photo galleries and complete articles and results on the spot and direct to your computer screen for the entire length of the 2002 Baja 1000.
OFF-ROAD.COM TROPHY TRUCK

What more must we say? This is one of the fastest trucks in the dirt, and it's about to embark upon an epic journey that Scott Steinberger says will earn us another Baja 1000 victory.

SCOTT STEINBERGER

Scott Steinberger isn't as bashful behind the wheel of a fast truck as he is in the company of some fast women. His fan club will stop at nothing to see him hosting a victory celebration at the finish line of this year's Baja 1000 peninsula run. We're all invited. We'll all be there.

GUNNY

Once a Marine, always a Marine. When it comes to cameras, Gunny's got butter fingers. But when it comes to cranking out hard code for ORC's real-time results, the guy is a "Rocket Scientist."

TIM "DESERTBULL" SANCHEZ
If you know Baja, you know the Desertbull. He'll be sitting shot gun behind a laptop computer and charging through the crowds with camera in hand at the finish line. His objective: to deliver to your computer screen the absolute best Baja 1000 coverage ever.
Fidel Gonzales

From the most remote reaches of the desert, through the pits, along side a taco stand, and finally at the finish line of the this year's Baja 1000, Fidel will bring you the people, the places and the things that make Baja the legend that it is. At home behind the lens of his Nikon D1x or pounding out words on the keyboard of his laptop, desert racing is his home and desert racers are his family. Expect him to team up with the Desertbull in providing the most comprehensive coverage in Baja history.

Pat "El Patron" Chicas

Always thinking. Pat is the backbone of ORC. On our epic journey to La Paz, his roll will not change; it will intesify. No only to we have to beat guys like Scott Steinberger, Johnny Campbell, Andy Grider, Larry Ragland, Mike Childress, Rob MacCachren and others to the finish line, but we've got to provide you with real-time coverage along the way. Pat along with his technical expertise will see to it that the entire operation will flow smootly without flaw.

JOHNNY "BAJA" CAMBPELL

He's already broken the record with his epic fifth-straight Baja 1000 win last year. Heading to La Paz, he's the world's most favored man to overall this year's peninsula run. The machine to champion toward the checkered is none other than the trustyworthy and extremely powerful Honda XR650R. Sharing the riding duties

ENDURO RACING - DAVID ASHLEY & DAN SMITH
It's going to be a tough race to call when it comes to the four-wheel vehicles. But whichever way you look at it, the Trophy Trucks are likely to take home the prize because of their extreme speed. It's a fast course that'll like see average speeds well over 60 MPH. One team that is no stranger to Baja victory is Enduro Racing. Expect them to be up front and in the fight for victory.
