Robison and LaRoza split
driving duties, with LaRoza starting the event and Robison taking the
seat of the #7313 Ford / BF Goodrich / LaRoza Construction backed Ford
Ranger FX4 for the second of three laps. LaRoza's daughter
Allison rode right seat for much of the event to gain experience in off
road driving and navigation technique.
Although happy with the results
of the event, veteran racer Robison felt that with continued development
of the fledging effort, higher placed overall finishes could be a future
goal for the team.
"I have to thank Steve (LaRoza)
for giving me this opportunity," remarked Robison shortly after the
event. "The truck was really reliable over the race, and the BFG
tires were terrific through a lot of the rough terrain. We picked
up a flat on the second lap, which doesn't happen often with the Baja
T/A, but we were still able to get a class win out of it, which is good.
I'm happy to be able to do this well for our first time out in this
truck, and I think there is some good potential for this LaRoza race
team as the season goes on."
