Bill Kuntz, owner of Torchmate announced, “I couldn’t be more excited about the promotion of JT Taylor to the position of General Manager of Torchmate Racing. JT has been a member of our team for a few years now. His organizational and leadership skills are second to none. We have big things planned for both JT and the entire Torchmate Racing Team through 2011 and beyond. The Torchmate name is one that you can count on to go above and beyond no matter what the situation or circumstance. If I know nothing else of JT, I know that he will represent us well in managing the ongoing relationships with our customers, partners and team members.”
JT Taylor starts his list of duties as Driver of Record for the 7200 Truck in the 2010 SCORE Baja 1000. JT Taylor will manage a focused team and share driving duties with Torchmate’s Gregg Jones and Mark Levrett, and Marty Fiolka the Editor of Dirt Sports Magazine. JT Taylor will be the driver of record for several races through out the 2011 race season.
Torchmate will be building a brand new Ultra4 car for JT Taylor and trophy truck driver Roger Norman to race in the 2011 King of the Hammers. JT Taylor, one of the original 13 KOH racers, is already qualified and looks forward to having a brand new car to drive. “Roger and I make a great team at King of the Hammers and this year we will be even more competitive with the amazing car that is about ready to be built,” said JT Taylor. There will be a complete build thread on Pirate4x4.com.
“This is a dream come true, I don’t even know how to explain how excited I am about this,” smiled JT Taylor. “I am proud to be the face of Torchmate and race the Ultra4 series, XRRA, Pikes Peak and attend shows like Off-Road Expo and PRI to help promote the company and the race team, while also supporting the other Torchmate teams that they currently sponsor.”
