CORR Elaborates on 2009 Race Season

Dec. 24, 2008 By Press Release
Our 2009 season saw many amazing moments. Our exposure reached further than ever as we saw CORR receive national media attention through the Associated Press, USA Today, ESPN online and others. CORR’s NBC ratings increased throughout the season and our show on SPEED continues to be one of the best off road racing programs on national cable television. We will continue to capitalize on this momentum and move forward with a revised business plan that will allow us to operate CORR as a budget conscious, autonomous entity.

With our national exposure, CORR has established itself as the most known name in short course off road racing while building a strong presence at the next level of motorized action sports. With drivers such as Jeremy McGrath, Brian Deegan, Ricky Johnson and Carey Hart joining stars like Johnny Greaves, Rob MacCachren, Scott Douglas and Carl Renezeder, we are well on our way to building a true national presence for the sport.

Recently, we have reached out to many drivers, teams and sponsors to communicate our plans for the future and how we are resolving the issues that plagued us in the ’08 season. Our television coverage has been the backbone of the series. We wish to continue our NBC coverage in 2009 alongside expanded SPEED coverage. As we develop our ’09 season programming plans, NBC and SPEED continue to be valued partners. The level of NBC coverage will be determined by the degree of sponsor participation.

The focus of our 2009 season is:

- A minimum of six race weekends in locations that will include Chula Vista along with likely locations in Arizona and Las Vegas. Other national locations will be determined.

- Developing programming based on our current contracts with NBC and SPEED.

- Sponsor driven and funded NBC programming.

- Fiscal responsibility and long-term financial viability.

We are in the process of negotiating with new tracks and locations. A key aspect to our revised business plan is that we are working with existing facilities with existing infrastructure. We are working with these partners to provide venues for CORR events of the high caliber that our teams, sponsors and fans have enjoyed. While significantly reducing costs, the focus will be on drivers and teams, the race program, and television coverage.

As we prepare to turn the page on 2008 and look to the upcoming year, we know that we have many challenges ahead of us. The support that we have received from our drivers, teams, sponsors and fans have shown us that CORR remains a strong part of the off road racing family. To all of our drivers, teams, sponsors and fans, we wish you all a joyful holiday season and all of the best in 2009. We look forward to seeing you all for an exciting 2009 CORR race season!
