We don’t talk a lot about motorcycles on the site these days, but the Husqvarna Norden 901 concept has really grabbed the attention of the motorcycle community.
The Husqvarna Norden 901 was released as a concept back in November and public response was very positive. So positive, in fact, that Husqvarna has made it official that the Norden 901 will be put into production…we just don’t know exactly when.

Husqvarna is owned by KTM and the Norden 901 will be based around the KTM 790 Adventure R platform. That bike was named motorcycle of the year by our sister site, Motorcycle.com. But the Husqvarna Norden 901 takes things a step further with a larger 889,5cc engine that should move the peak horsepower number into triple digits.
At this point, Husqvarna has been pretty tight with details on its adventure bike concept, so specs beyond the engine are very limited. But the manufacturer did say the Norden 901 strikes a perfect balance between “off-road performance and touring ability.” Husqvarna also says the bike will have class-leading lightness, which would indicate it will weigh less than the KTM 790 Adventure’s claimed 366-pound dry weight.
Beyond that, we do know that the new Norden 901 will be equipped with WP suspension and rely on a 21-inch front wheel and a 19-inch rear wheel. Photos also reveal what looks like dual TFT color screens. The top screen appears to show a compass, while the bottom has a tachometer.
Adventure bikes are designed to take you far off the beaten path and the Husqvarna Norden 901 concept is shown loaded with three pieces of soft luggage so you can stay awhile.
The concept features LED lights all around and we imagine those will make it production and give the rider a better view of the trail ahead when the sun goes down. Added features like engine crash bars and hand guards are also seen on the concept, but it’s hard to say of those will be included on the stock bike or be available as accessories.
