Honda introduced its Baja Passport race truck and 2026 Passport TrailSport at the Mint 400, with both entries drawing strong fan interest.
In the Unlimited class, the Baja Passport, driven by Ethan Ebert, qualified eighth and quickly climbed to second overall before a mechanical issue ended its race. The turbocharged V6 SUV showed promise competing against top V8 trophy trucks.
In the Limited Stock Production class, the Passport TrailSport, entered by Honda of America Racing Team (HART), completed two laps despite an early mechanical setback. Drivers Andrew Shapiro and Jordan Guitar navigated the demanding course, finishing 28th out of 62 competitors.
Despite challenges, Honda saw the race as a successful test of its new vehicles. The team now looks ahead to the Baja 500, set for June 4-8.
