Ford is reviving one of its most iconic off-road names with the debut of the 2025 Bronco Stroppe Special Edition. This two-door SUV celebrates the legacy of Bill Stroppe, a legendary builder of off-road vehicles, and the original Stroppe Baja Bronco, which dominated desert racing in the 1960s and 1970s. The 2025 Ford Bronco Stroppe edition blends modern performance with historical design cues to create a vehicle built for off-roaders who value both heritage and capability.

A Nod to Bronco’s Racing Heritage
The Ford Bronco Stroppe Special Edition is more than a tribute to Bill Stroppe’s achievements—it is a reflection of the Bronco’s rich motorsports legacy. In 1969, a Stroppe-prepared Bronco became the first and only stock 4×4 to win the Baja 1000 outright, establishing the model as a desert racing icon.
“Bill Stroppe not only established Bronco’s competition legacy at events like the Baja 1000 and NORRA Mexican 1000, but Stroppe Baja Broncos put his off-road knowhow on the road and helped establish Bronco with consumers,” said Ted Ryan, Ford archivist.
The new Stroppe Special Edition retains this spirit with features that prioritize high-speed desert capability. “When you purchased a Stroppe Baja Bronco in 1971, it rolled out of Bill Stroppe’s factory ready to tackle the Baja 1000,” said Jason Hyde, Bronco brand manager. “That capability was at the core of our development process for the new Bronco Stroppe Special Edition.”’
Design and Interior Features
The Bronco Stroppe Special Edition includes exclusive design elements inspired by its heritage, such as high-clearance fenders, a Frozen White grille with a Code Orange wordmark, and Code Orange tow hooks. The interior continues the theme with a white instrument mid-panel, Code Orange accents, and contrast stitching throughout. A unique Stroppe Special Edition badge on the center console adds to its exclusivity.
