If you love cooking real meals while camping, this food scraper is a must-have for your field kit. Designed with both a soft and a hard edge, it effortlessly removes baked-on residue without scratching your cookware. Cleanup duty just got a whole lot easier!

These compact spice jars are perfect for bringing a variety of seasonings without taking up precious space. They make it easy to add flavor to everything from steak to eggs, no matter how far off the grid you are.

Widdle Wadder

Does the overlander in your life already have every imaginable (and sometimes ridiculous) accessory? Yeah, that’s probably why you’re here… Well, if they’ve got a sense of humor, they’ll love the Widdle Wadder—a mini 3D-printed ladder that attaches to the rig with integrated magnets. Because no overland build is complete without a ladder or two.

Quick Fist Clamp

Quick Fist Clamps are easy to install and make accessing essential gear—like shovels, hatchets, or flashlights—super fast and easy. Mount them inside or outside the rig; they’re incredibly versatile and trusted by fire departments for securing a wide assortment of tools.

SOG Folding Shovel

It may not scream “overland” like a showy, vehicle-mounted shovel, but any shovel beats no shovel. Credit: SOG

This compact SOG Shovel saves space and is way better than a cathole trowel. Just a heads-up: it’s useless in deep snow (trust us). For most overland trips, it’s perfect, but if snow’s a risk, bring a full-size shovel—or even better, a winch.

Keep the caffeine addict in your life happy with an Aeropress. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, everything is compostable, and—most importantly—it brews an incredibly smooth cup of coffee.

This lantern folds down to nearly nothing and recharges via USB-C or solar power. Just leave it on your hood to soak up the sun while you explore, and it’ll stay lit all night. It’s also perfect for backpacking or ADV rides, which makes this multipurpose light a must-have.

Silky BigBoy 2000 Outback

Silky makes our favorite compact saws, hands down. The 5” Silky Pocketboy is a great choice for hiking or post-storm trail rides (and yes, even the occasional sheetrock job). But for off-roading, we swear by the BigBoy. Its 14.2” Japanese-made blade makes cutting firewood, clearing trails, or tackling small yard projects a breeze. Plus, it’s lightweight and compact enough to throw in your backpack for any adventure.

ARB Deflator

Getting the right tire pressure is key for grip and comfort when off-roading. To make quick and accurate deflations, we rely on the ARB Tire Deflator with its integrated gauge. Unlike Stuan and similar deflators, which are preset to a fixed PSI and can’t handle a drop in the dirt, this rugged tool lets you adjust to any tire pressure you want. Sure, there are cheaper options, but if it’s a gift, splurge the extra $20 for the name brand. It’s probably the most affordable thing ARB makes!

Helinox Camp Chair

Light and small enough for backpacking, these chairs are also our go-to for overlanding. They’re sturdy, comfortable, and, unlike most camp chairs, they don’t take up much room. Setup and teardown take less than a minute, making them perfect for quick stops. We’ve taken these across the U.S. on the back of our dual sports and camped all over North America with them. While they’re rated up to 300 lbs, we’d suggest a Yeti Trailhead for larger folks.

Exped Mega Mat

You spend a third of your life sleeping, so make it comfy. The Exped Mega Mat is our top pick for car camping, even if it’s a bit bulky when packed. Its thick foam layer cushions side sleepers from bottoming out, and the air chamber lets you customize firmness. We keep the valve near our head for easy pressure adjustments.

While it’s not truly “self-inflating” (trust us), a small rechargeable pump from Amazon does the trick. It fits perfectly in an REI Half Dome Tent, between 4Runner wheel wells, in a Sprinter, or in the back of a Tacoma. Worth every inch of space!

Max Tracks

Like the venerable Hi-Lift, no overland rig is complete without a set of MaxTrax. Sure, they might look meme-worthy, but there’s a reason we always carry them. Whether you’re stuck in sand, mud, or snow, these beauties get you unstuck—and can even double as ramps or a small bridge.

Even if you never need them for recovery, they’re perfect for leveling out your rig at camp.

Snow Peak Pack and Carry Fireplace

Available in three sizes, this portable stainless steel fire pit draws inspiration from the Japanese art of origami, folding completely flat for easy transportation. Designed to prevent scorching the ground when camping on grass, it pairs perfectly with a wide array of optional cooking accessories from Snow Peak.
