Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US), the performance division behind Honda and Acura’s North American racing teams, has announced the creation of a new business focused on producing off-road-specific performance parts for retail customers. Previously operating as Honda Performance Development (HPD), HRC US has three decades of experience in off-road racing and will now use this expertise to offer authentic upgrades for Honda and Acura vehicles driven in challenging environments.

This initiative comes after strong interest from enthusiasts, especially following the recent debut of the Acura Integra Type S HRC Prototype at Monterey Car Week. Leveraging championship-winning HRC race engineering, these parts will target durability, traction, and handling improvements for off-road applications, with the first prototypes expected for testing as early as next year.

“HRC US has been winning races and championships on and off road for three decades, and we’re excited to apply this experience to new lines of performance parts for Honda and Acura enthusiasts eager to augment their performance driving experience,” said Jon Ikeda, senior vice president of HRC US.

To preview these capabilities, HRC US will display nine performance and concept vehicles at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas from November 5-8. Among them will be off-road vehicles featuring prototype HRC components that demonstrate the company’s advanced approach to rugged terrain performance. The HRC booth, located at #24789 in Central Hall, will highlight the durability-focused components that set these parts apart for serious off-road driving.

“At Honda, competition fuels our challenging spirit, ignites our best thinking and powers many of the imaginative ideas we bring to life,” said David Salters, president of HRC US. “We couldn’t be more excited and challenged to apply the technical knowledge of our HRC race engineers to the vehicles our customers can enjoy. We believe adding a performance parts line from HRC will build stronger connections with Acura and Honda enthusiasts while credibly enhancing their driving and ownership experience.”

Through HRC’s retail performance line, Honda and Acura owners will soon gain access to the same rigorous engineering standards that power HRC’s off-road racing efforts, enhancing their vehicles’ capabilities for serious trails and adventure.
