Some tough American metal take on the vast Oz landscape.
Yesterday was the 4th of July. We hope you had a chance to enjoy the nation’s birthday with those who are important to you. With that in mind, we went looking for some great examples of American trucks showing off their stuff around the world.
This group from Down Under are wheeling a couple of great examples of American four wheeling: the Hummer H1 (in pickup spec! yes!) and a Jeep Wrangler. These two beasts of the 4×4 world go head to head choosing the most difficult lines and in some cases, according to the video’s description, opening up new lines.
Both the Hummer and Jeep are running aggro Nitto tires from the Grappler range. The H1 is sporting 40 inch Nitto Trail Grapplers while the Wrangler is running 37 inch Nitto Mud Grapplers.
The Hummer H1 is pretty much a standard 1996 model with some Alpha bits and pieces. the 40 inch tyres fit with no lift. It is said to be still running the standard Torsen diffs. It has a custom made front swing down bar with a Warn high mount winch.
Meanwhile, the Wrangler JK 2-door is said to be sitting on a 3-inch lift and is twin-locked with ARB air lockers. Its builders say the front has a Dana 44 diff and the rear is a Dana 60 high clearance unit.
