Interested in Textron Prowler side-by-sides? You now have more choice.

The off-road arm of industrial giant Textron has added a trio of new rigs to its Specialized Vehicle lineup. A pair are six passenger Prowler models, while the third will only accept two of your closest friends.

2019 Prowler Pro Crew models have two rows of seats and can carry six passengers. They’ll be offered in XT and Ranch trims, with the latter having said ‘Yes’ to the company’s entire accessories catalog.

Let’s start with the fancy Ranch, which will come standard with a molded top and a 4500lb Warn winch. Buyers will also find a front brushguard, snazzier-than-XT bench seats, LED-accented halogen headlights, and 27-inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires. Choose it in any color you want so long as it’s Atomic Copper. Sticker prices start at $17,199.

The Prowler Pro Crew XT comes with 26-inch Pro Terrain tires and standard halogen headlights. It’s available in Dynamic Charcoal or Fire Red. All Prowler Pro Crew models are equipped with 10 inches of front and 9.5 inches of rear suspension travel. There is 10 inches of ground clearance in a Prowler Pro Crew. A 2000 pound towing capacity, 1500 pound payload capacity, and 1000 pound tilting cargo box capacity make it a sensible choice for hauling game and trailers alike. A unique column shifter frees up floor space. A sum of $14,799 will get you behind the wheel.

“We continue to develop state-of-the-art Textron Off Road vehicles that meet a wide variety of enthusiasts’ needs,” said John Collins, a Vice President in Textron’s consumer division. “The new Prowler Pro XT Crew builds off of the innovative Prowler Pro platform and continues the legacy Textron has instilled in all of its highly engineered brands.”

Prowler Pro Crew side-by-sides are powered by a 812cc EFI engine that makes 50 horsepower. That number may not sound too high in a class where most of the competition posts a much higher number but Textron is confident their mill will haul the mail just fine. They take great pains to describe it as “whisper-quiet”, a trait that can be very valuable when rolling out to the duck blind before daybreak.

That smoothness and quietness is apparently the result of vibration-reducing engine mounts and a rubber-isolated exhaust system, items designed to minimize buzzing and harshness while keeping sound to a minimum. Electronic-selectable 4WD with a selectable locking rear differential provides multiple options for traction in varying conditions.

A third new model from the company is a single-row Ranch model which is equipped similarly to its big brother but naturally drops ‘Crew’ from its nameplate. It, too, is available in a copper color and cost $1500 less than the six-passenger model.

The Textron Off Road Prowler Pro line is built in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
