Morgantown, W. Va. (December 22, 2011) – Racer Productions, producer of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series, announces today the tentative Supplemental Rules and Classes for the 2012 GNCC Series. The Supplemental Rules and Classes have been reconstructed with much consideration and input from industry leaders and competitors within the sport and will remain open for public comment until January 1, 2012.
Class structure on the bike side has undergone relatively minor changes for next season. Highlights include the addition of the Girls (9-14) class, as well as the newly restructured Women’s Amateur class-providing intermediate and novice racers of any age a place to compete outside the premiere Women’s class.
“A majority of the changes in both Supplemental Rules and Classes came directly from our competitors and sponsors at the rules meeting held after this year’s awards banquet,” said Jeff Russell, GNCC Trail Boss. “GNCC is a grassroots sport and we will continue to honor input from our racers and sponsors in order to move the series forward.”
On the ATV side, the age classifications for several of the Vet and Senior classes have been restructured for 2012 in order to increase competition levels and promote advancement.
As we continue to grow our UTV (Side-by-Side) classes, minor class adjustments have been made to homologate the GNCC class structure. Therefore, the premiere UTV class will be XC1 Modified, the limited class will be XC2 Limited, and UTV Novice has been added for competitors with less experience-while the Single Seat class remains unchanged.
