There’s some talk that Lamborghini is considering building a V8-powered SUV in the near future. This news comes after word of the company’s plan to produce a V8-powered sports car with a lower price tag for added mass appeal.
Lamborghini first produced an SUV back in the late ‘70s as a military prototype, but the company later produced a select number of SUVs, the LM002 (pictured), from 1986 to 1993. Since then, there have been a number of rumors that the company would produce a successor to these early SUV models from Lamborghini, which is no surprise after seeing Audi and Porsche produce SUV models.
The news on Lamborghini was initially reported by Car & Driver, which said Lamborghini sources “strongly hinted” that a new LM model would be produced. The report also said the vehicle would be based on the same architecture as the Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg and Audi Q7.
