Finally, someone has come up with an answer for all the off-roaders demanding a four-door, six-wheeled, 600 horsepower Ford Raptor.

Hennessey Performance has dropped news that it will unveil the gonzo VelociRaptor 6×6 at this year’s SEMA show in Vegas. Looking for all the world like something straight out of the pages of fantasy, the VelociRaptor 6×6 comes equipped with locking rear axles and upgraded Fox suspension. Details are scanty in terms of the suspension upgrades but rest assured they will likely be as aggressive as the rest of the truck.

“Our VelociRaptor 6X6 is pure aggression on wheels – all six of them”, said Hennessey. “The new 2017 Raptor is going to be one of the best all-around trucks ever built. We are excited to help take it to the next level both in terms of performance and exclusivity”.

Gnarly 20-inch wheels are wrapped in off-road tires of unspecified vintage, while special front and rear bumpers, rollbar, and LED lights round out the visual assault. Hennessey has enlarged the Raptor’s rear wheelwells to accept the extra rubber, creating a hole big enough to inhale a flock of sheep.

Sticker price of the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 starts at $295,000, and that’s before one starts layering on the options. Buyers will want to pop for the twin-turbo upgrade which jacks power to somewhere north of 600 horses, compared to the standard Raptor’s admittedly workaday 450 horsepower.

If you’re in for a penny, you’re in for a pound, so buyers might as well lay out extra cash for the optional Brembo front and rear brakes, extra LED lighting, and bespoke interior touches. And you’re getting the optional larger wheel and tires, right? Right?

It should be noted that the base 2017 – 2018 Raptor is included for your $295,000, a sum which would otherwise buy you a well-optioned Lamborghini Huracán or possibly a Baja 1000 team. It’s at least equivalent to Robby Gordon’s annual budget for sunglasses.

Owners of the standard Ford Raptor can bring their unmodified truck, now rendered worthless by the 6×6, to Hennessey solely for the twin-turbo upgrade. The company will turn up the EcoBoost horsepower wick to over 600 horsepower. The power upgrades include stainless steel exhaust modifications, upgraded front mounted intercooler and plumbing, and re-tuned factory computer.
