When you’re the founder of one of the biggest sports clothing companies in the world, why not have a killer customized off-road rig? Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank and his family recently enlisted East Coast Defender to build a 1993 North American spec Defender 110, and the result is a one-of-a-kind Defender that’s simply stunning.

The vehicle build was tabbed “Project XIII,” which is a nod to Plank’s birthday being on the 13th. The Land Rover price tag tapped out at $225,000 after it was built to the family’s specs. Some of the unique features on the Project XIII Defender 110 include a 430-horsepower LS3, GM 6L60 six-speed automatic transmission, external roll cage and a host of modernized upgrades. The custom ride also features 18-inch Boost Alloy wheels fitted with BFGoodrich KO2 tires.

“We could not be happier with the way our Defender turned out and have had so much fun with it,” the Plank family said.

It should comes as no surprise that the build took East Coast Defender a few months to complete. One major surprise on the rig, however, is that it will actually set up to nine people. Inside, the Defender sports an Alpine touchscreen LCD screen, GPS navigation, backup camera and sensors, and of course Bluetooth capability. There’s also a 13-speaker JBL sound system added as well.

The East Coast Defender crew certainly built a unique Defender 110 for the Plank family… we just hope it still gets to see the dirt from time to time.
