NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Titans and the Nissan “Heisman House” now have back-to-back Heisman Trophy winners running plays for them: 2016 Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry, and 2015’s honoree, Marcus Mariota.
Today, Henry was at Nissan North America headquarters, about 15 miles south of Nissan Stadium, where he’ll play home games as a professional, to be inducted into the “Nissan Heisman House.” This is Nissan’s fictional fraternity for Heisman Trophy winners. With his new status, Henry chose to receive a 2016 Nissan TITAN XD Platinum Reserve edition with the Endurance V8 engine. This truck is assembled by Nissan’s manufacturing plant in Canton, Mississippi, and the engine is assembled in Decherd, Tennessee. He picked the keys up today at Nissan.
As part of the Heisman House campaign, Henry joins other former Heisman winners, in a series of broadcast and social media vignettes set to air throughout the upcoming college football season. The first are scheduled to air beginning Thursday, Sept. 1.
“On behalf of all Nissan employees, we are pleased to welcome Derrick to the Heisman House,” said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America, Inc. “This campaign continues to gain legions of fans every year, and adding an Alabama powerhouse, and future Titans star, to the team will bolster that success. We also extend to Derrick a heartfelt welcome to Nashville and the Nissan family. His new Titan XD will look right at home parked at Nissan Stadium, home of our very own Tennessee Titans.”
Now entering its sixth year, Nissan’s Heisman House marketing campaign features a series of video vignettes, a traveling college campus/stadium tour and social media elements, including the opportunity for fans to vote online for their favorite Heisman Trophy candidates.

Henry recently signed a contract with the Tennessee Titans. He received 1,832 points in the Heisman Trophy voting, winning five of six voting regions. He is the first running back to claim the Heisman since 2009, when Alabama running back Mark Ingram won the award. The Heisman went to quarterbacks in the five years that followed.
