Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. (September, 2015) – The Jeep Grand Cherokee has long been the vehicle of choice for those of us who wanted to go off-road occasionally but didn’t want to sacrifice creature comforts with something like a Wrangler. The Grand Cherokee is a solidly built, reliable, capable machine that is available with a variety of engines. These rigs also represent a tremendous value on the used market and as such they are super common and make a great starting point for a variety of off-road builds. One area in which they could use some serious improvement however, is their exhaust system. The stock exhaust system is extremely quiet and restrictive, definitely not something an enthusiast would want. Luckily, MagnaFlow is here to help with their new cat-back system for 2011-2016 Grand Cherokees with the 5.7 liter V8 and 2014-2016 Grand Cherokees with the 3.6 liter V6.
The current generation of Chrysler’s 5.7 liter V8 is a respectable power plant. It makes good power and great torque and is relatively under-stressed, allowing it to soldier on for countless miles. It can sound great when properly uncorked, but is all but inaudible with the stock system. The same is true of the 3.6 liter V6. It has a number of advantages over the V8 including better fuel economy and lighter weight and sounds fantastic when it is allowed to breathe, but much like the V8, the V6 is nearly silent with a stock exhaust system. To alleviate this and to help bump power output, MagnaFlow has engineered a high quality cat-back system with great flow and an even better sound.
The MagnaFlow exhaust system for the 2011-2016 Grand Cherokee 5.7L V8 and 2014-2016 Grand Cherokee 3.6L V6 is comprised of 2.5 inch stainless steel tubing, a pair of resonators, a 5 inch x 8 inch x 18 inch muffler, and terminates in two 4 inch black coated tips. This simplifies the exhaust system over stock, improving flow, and imbuing the Grand Cherokee with the famous MagnaFlow growl. Additionally, all MagnaFlow exhaust systems come with a Lifetime Warranty, and each kit includes all the necessary hardware and components for a complete, bolt-on installation. MagnaFlow products are proudly made in the USA. For more information, visit www.magnaflow.com to find a dealer near you.
