The Polaris General XP 1000 family has been revamped for the 2020 model year with a wider stance, increased ground clearance, more suspension travel, and larger tires.
“The General XP 1000 lineup is a redesigned, reengineered machine built for outdoor adventure, balancing performance and workability, while delivering extreme comfort for all-day riding,” Polaris says in a release.
The Polaris General XP 1000 lineup features new styling and still delivers 100 horsepower. Connecting the General to the ground are 30-inch Pro Armor Crawler tires, which help provide 13.5 inches of ground clearance. The General’s suspenders also see improvement for 2020 with 14 inches of front and rear travel from the Walker Evans Velocity shocks. As well, Polaris outfitted the General XP with high clearance A-arms, a Polaris Pro HD 4500-lb winch and a Sport Low-Profile Bumper.
Keeping the Polaris General XP 1000 and XP 4 1000 more planted to the trail is its wider 64-inch stance – and increase of 1.5 inches compared to previous models.
Other features on the 2020 Polaris General XP 1000 and XP 4 1000 include new long-distance LED headlights that draw less power while providing a brighter view of the trail ahead, redesigned high-coverage fender flares to block debris and mud from riders, and bolstered, color-matching bucket seats.
While it won’t help with performance, you might end up enjoying taking the Polaris General XP 1000 for a spin even more thanks to its new factory-installed with Stage 1 Audio by Rockford Fosgate.
Each General XP 1000 model can tow up to 1500 pounds through its two-inch receiver, so you can get some work done when you aren’t out playing in the trails. You’ll also find 23L of cabin storage in the center divider, center console and glove box. A rearview mirror, Sport roof, and half doors add to driver and passenger comfort and safety.
Finally, the new 2020 Polaris General XP 1000 and XP 4 1000 are available with the Ride Command Factory Choice package, which includes a 7-inch, glove-touch display and upgraded Rockford Fosgate Stage 4 Audio, the industry’s first tuned and factory-installed 400W stage 4 system with four speakers and subwoofer kit.
The General XP 1000 lineup is available in Matte Navy Blue and a Glossy Stealth Grey starting at $22,999, while the General XP 4 1000 starts at $24,999. Models will begin shipping to Polaris dealers in October.
