We love 6x6s here at Off-Road.com, and our friends at RivianOwnersForum.com have given us something to get excited about.
The forum has released renders of what they think a Rivian 6×6 Off-Road Super Duty could look like. When Rivian first surprised the world by debuting two seemingly production-ready electric vehicles, a pickup truck called the R1T and an SUV called the R1S, it gave us hope that the electric truck future looked bright.
Although the R1T has four motors (one for each wheel), it’s unclear if the 6×6 would have six motors on board to power the extra axle. The forum suggests a 6×6 R1T would have an extra battery pack under the bedliner to account for the increased weight from the additional axle and reinforcements.

The 6×6 R1T looks great with a bull bar and roof lighting as well as all the beefed-up off-road components and knobby tires. Although this 6×6 would be completely silent because it’s fully electric and we’d be missing a Ford F-150 Raptor-like V8 howl, this truck would still be certifiably badass if it were real.
The original truck already has impressive off-road credibility with more ground clearance than a Wrangler Rubicon, and this 6×6 takes it to the next level. It’s still early days, but we hope this 6×6 becomes a reality one day.
