Land Rover has pulled the sheet off of the updated Discovery Sport, which has received revised looks, a new mild-hybrid powertrain and other small changes for the 2020 model year.

The styling updates on the new Discovery Sport are limited to new LED daytime running lights, a sportier-looking front fascia, new LED taillights and a different rear bumper.

Inside the crossover has received a new Luxtex microfiber upholstery option, which is made from recycled polyester, along with standard 40:20:40 split second-row seats and new third-row cupholders. There’s also an available wireless charging pad within the centre console, a 4G WiFi hotspot, USB and 12-volt outlets, and individual HVAC controls in the second and third rows.

Other new tech includes a larger standard 10-inch display, capacitive feedback switches for the multi-function steering wheel, an available smart rearview mirror with rear-facing video, a ground view camera, and a suite of available active safety features.

Lastly (and also most importantly), Land Rover has added a new 48-volt mild hybrid three-cylinder powertrain to the Discovery Sport’s engine lineup, which joins the existing range of three- and four-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel engines offered with the SUV in Europe.

Pricing for the new Land Rover Discovery Sport will start at £31,575 in the UK – equivalent to around $40,100 in the United States. Official US pricing will be announced at a later date.
