Roush has breathed upon the Raptor. Hold onto your butts.

Is the plain-jane, admittedly workaday Raptor not enough for you? Would you rather fling yourself into the desert in something tuned by Jack Roush? Then you’re in luck. The company known for hopping up Ford of all stripes has turned their attention to the 2019 Raptor pickup.

Ford’s already taken care of the suspension, what with the gonzo shocks and wheel travel, so Roush focused their attention on other areas. Roush-specific 20-inch Bead Protection Off Road Wheels are wrapped in thirty-five inches of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 rubber to keep the thing firmly planted to whatever terrain dares to get in its path. Nylon-based bead protection rings help protect the wheels from off-road damage and allow drivers to brag about them to their buddies at the trailhead. Two colors of wheel rings are included: black and red.

A custom axle-back exhaust has been fitted, finished with black tips the size of sewer pipes. No sound clip is given but it is safe to say the exhaust note of this rig should be exponentially improved over the mournful wail of a stock EcoBoost Raptor. A corrosion-resistant chase rack sits aft of the cab and atop the bed, looking mean and not taking up any bed space. Those off-road lights by Rigid are an $850 option. Unique Roush graphics are slathered on the truck’s hood and bedsides.

Inside, those who have laid down the cash for the upgrades will find a Roush-specific gauge cluster and headrests embroidered with the company name. There’s a serialized chrome badge on the console commemorating your purchase. A $390 console vault for, erm, valuables is optional.

Price? Budget at least $13,000 above and beyond the price of a shiny new Raptor, more if you want those optional lights mentioned above. Checking every single option box pushes the upgrade price to $15,095. Looks like its feeding time at the Raptor pen again.
