Once a year, the world’s gearheads descend upon Las Vegas for SEMA. It’s a show like no other, packed with wild customs and one-off concepts. We’ve rounded up a few of the best off-road rigs found at this year’s party in the desert.
Let’s start off with Ringbrothers, who teased their Blazer project ahead of the show. This ’71 is powered by an LS3 crate motor making in the neighborhood of 430 horsepower. Those BFGoodrich meats are mounted on sanely-sized 17-inch Circle Racing wheels. It definitely trumps the launch of another new Blazer eariler this year.

Any opportunity to show a picture of the ROXOR is one we’ll take. The Michigan-based company was in attendance with a raft of accessories and exterior styles for their fun-sized off-roader.
Honda let its hair down, going wild by hacking most of the body panels from a Ridgeline to create the Rugged Open Air Vehicle. Endowed with a few bits from the Pioneer 1000 UTV, this wide-by-side is strictly a concept for now. Still, we’re grateful the normally staid automaker went so far as to custom craft jumbo-sized copies of UTV bodywork to build a rig that looks like something Mad Max might drive to work.
Fine, the Toyota Tundra PIE Pro isn’t an off-road machine but any truck that’ll make us a pepperoni pizza is worth our attention. The company tore an SR5 long box down to the bare chassis in order to make this snack-lover’s dream. Make ours with extra cheese.
Custom builders fiveRtrucks showed up with a 1997 F-350 plunked on a the frame of a 2017 Super Duty. Yeah, that’s 40-inch Nittos on each corner.
What’s the biggest off-road rig you can carry in the back of a three-quarter ton Ram? Nope, bigger than that. The builders at FabFours created this Crawler Hauler, an amazing conversion with a custom bed and rack system plus a whole host of other mods.
Fabtech had plenty of their gear on display. This Super Duty is ready for Baja with its off-road gear … and hey, is that a cactus?
It’s SEMA, so you know there were plenty of Wranglers on hand. This one from JCR Offroad brings the gear while paying tribute to Burt Reynolds.
Finally, even though it’s not off-road focused, we can’t let a recap of SEMA 2018 pass without mention of the Hellephant 426 trotted out by the loony-tunes at Mopar. Sure, the company chose to display it in a ’68 Charger, but we are busy imagining this 1000hp monster in a knobby-tired pickup truck.
How about it Mopar? Care to drop one in a HD Ram to create the Hellwagon?
