Does the new Chevy Silverado Trail Boss Z71 not have enough power for you? Or even enough wheels? Hennessey has an answer with their new Goliath 6×6.
Leave it to a Texas-based company to take a factory-lifted pickup, jack it even further skyward, and add a couple of wheels. Mixing 705 horsepower into the mix as well? Why not?
Hot on the heels of the company’s VelociRaptor 6×6, Hennessey Performance (HPE) is adding another six-wheel drive truck to their stable of off-road rigs. The Hennessey Goliath 6×6. Based on the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado truck, this machine takes the capable Trail Boss Z71 model and cranks everything to 11.
“We are very excited to offer our new Goliath 6×6 alongside our VelociRaptor 6×6 truck,” said company founder & CEO, John Hennessey. “These are very exclusive and unique vehicles that make a huge statement anywhere our clients go – whether its Rodeo Drive or the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert.”
The stock 6.2L V8 engine, already classified by your author as a hand-of-god mill, is upgraded with Hennessey’s HPE700 Supercharged engine upgrade package. This includes a 2.9L supercharger system producing 7 psi of boost which, along with a stainless steel exhaust upgrade, produces an eye-watering 705 horses and 675 lb-ft of twist. The 0-60mph sprint is expected to be in the mid 4-second range despite the additional weight ladled on by the 6X6 conversion.
Not enough? HPE is also offering a stroker motor upgrade rated at 808 horsepower. Ye gods.
Additional Hennessey kit, above and beyond the obvious additional axles with its tires and brakes, includes an eight-inch lift, 37-inch BFGoodrich meats, and 20-inch wheels. Naturally, the bed is a custom unit, since truck beds that accommodate twin rear axles are in short supply at GM factories. LED lights, special Hennessey front and rear bumpers, and an in-yer-face grille package round out the modifications.
Price, if you have to ask, is $375,000, which includes the 2019 Silverado Trail Boss truck on which this monster is based. The company says they’re only building 24 of the things, available either straight from HPE or though select Chevy dealers.
