These new purpose-built Bell helmets with forced air kits are the company’s first offerings built specifically for UTV riders.

The recreational UTV market in America is growing by leaps and bounds. Keen for a piece of the pie, Bell Helmets has launched two new lids: the Qualifier Forced Air and the Qualifier DLX Forced Air. Drawing on its industry experience these are Bell’s first helmets designed, developed, and tested specifically for recreational UTV enthusiasts.

As some top off-road racers are already using Bell helmets, the company wanted to create UTV helmet offerings that everyday drivers and passengers could use for work and play.

“With the growing popularity of UTV’s, we wanted to satisfy a need by providing these enthusiasts with the types of proven helmets that Bell has been synonymous with for nearly 65 years,” said Chris Sackett, veep at Bell Helmets. “We are excited about the future, as we continue to develop new products and incorporate our top-of-the-line safety technologies into helmets for this category.”

The new Qualifier DLX Forced Air comes standard with a Transitions shield, tech that offers clarity in low-light conditions but quickly darkens in brighter conditions. While not included on the base-model Qualifier Forced Air, the lower-priced lid is also compatible with the Transitions shield. Both helmets feature a premium dust skirt, designed to keep debris outside where it belongs instead of all up in yer face.

That dust skirt is paired with a forced air kit that allows riders to breathe in cool, clean air by using positive pressure to prevent dusty air from entering the helmet. The forced air also creates a cooling sensation by blowing air straight down on the rider’s head. Your author would have performed many unspeakable acts to have had a helmet such as this in his younger riding days.

Fancy DLX models also feature a communications port and speaker pockets where riders will be able to connect their Bluetooth devices. Bell has also smartly partnered with Rugged Radio to build a “Rugged Ready” version of the DLX prewired with Rugged’s intercom system.

For quick reference, know that the main differences between the base and DLX lids are the Transitions shield and better Bluetooth setup on the DLX. Both are available ranging in sizes from S to XXL. The cheaper helmet is priced at $179.95 while its more expensive brother will dent your wallet for $319.95.
