If you were putting off getting a new set of Yokohama shoes for your off-road rig, now might be the time to break out the debit card.
During the month of June, the tire maker is offering a brace of special deals to those buying Yokohama’s ultra-rugged Geolandar M/T G003 mud-terrain tires. Customers buy four tires will get a $100 Visa Prepaid card. Replacing the spare, too? The company will kick back a $125 card for customers who buy five hoops.

“The new promotion is ideal for pick-up truck/SUV owners, including hardcore off-roaders and outdoor enthusiasts,” said Alan Holtschneider, Yokohama Tire’s director of marketing. “The Geolandar M/T G003 promotion comes at a great time to get new tires for off-roading and/or summer road trips, all while getting rewarded with a prepaid gift card.”
The M/T has eye-catching good looks thanks to an aggressive sidewall style that is also intended to deflect tire skewering trail debris. Yokohama calls its construction GEO-SHIELD technology made up of multiple sidewall plies (two or three, depending on tire size), steel belts, and a full nylon cap. Thanks to this, Yokohama promises a durable tire that will endure the toughest terrain.
A high-density compound and new wide-flat profile contribute to even wear patterns and long tread life. Mud and stone ejectors embedded in the tread contribute to the Geolandar M/T’s ability to be a viable option for on-road driving after a hard day of trail busting. The M/T is available in no fewer than thirty-seven sizes, ranging from 215/75/15 to 37X13.50R20.
This new G003 is a very different tire than its predecessors bearing the Geolandar name. Yokohama jacked up the number of biting edges when designing the G003, allowing the tire to bite harder in the mud. Sipes line the tread blocks, water-evacuating technology the old tire did not have.
Fun fact: Yokohama Tire Corporation is the North American manufacturing and marketing arm of Tokyo, Japan-based mothership. The Japanese unit celebrated its 100th birthday last year.
