Now that official photos of the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL have been released, Jeep has stopped bothering with camouflage on its test units that are cruising the public streets of Michigan.
That means we have tons of photos to show of the new JL, from many angles and in different trim levels. In this set, we see a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, an Unlimited Overland, an Unlimited Sport and a two-door Wrangler Rubicon model. Both the hard and softop are seen in the photos, both of which appear similar to the current Wrangler JK.

Many small styling tweaks have been applied all over the Wrangler, from the addition of lights in the front fenders to the more raked windshield. One of the biggest styling differences is the new air vent tucked in behind the front fenders.
Oddly, the Wrangler Rubicon seen in the photos appears to have no front bumper, possibly just for testing purposes, though we do know the Wrangler is supposed to have easy to remove bumper caps to unblock the wheels, so possibly the entire bumper is easily removable for those that don’t want to damage it while wheeling. We will have to wait and see.
Few secrets are left when it comes to the new Wrangler. It will offer three engines, a 3.6-liter V6, 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter diesel, with all three hooked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. A six-speed manual will also be offered, but likely only with the 3.6-liter. It will have all the off-road gear we have come to expect like locking front- and rear-differentials, disconnecting sway bars, a low-range transfer case and more.
