The 300,000th Mercedes-Benz G-Class rolled off the assembly line at Magna Steyr in Austria this week sporting an eye-catching Mauritius Blue Metallic finish.

The iconic Mercedes G-Class SUV has remained relatively unchanged for the better part of its existence, and now the special 300,000th example of the classic SUV will be on display across the automaker’s social media networks. According to the Mercedes, the color combination for the vehicle was selected by fans from all over the world, who voted on the official Facebook page of the G-Class. Along with the blue exterior, the cabin features black leather seats with contrast white stitching. The SUV also got outfitted with the Off-Road package that includes black 16-inch wheels with all-terrain tires and a roof rack.

Sales of the G-Class have continually grown since 2009, the automaker said. Last year, it achieved a new sales record with nearly 20,000 units sold in 2016. The model has hit a new sales record every year since 2012.

“The G-Class has been produced by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, on behalf of Mercedes-Benz since 1979. Today our off-road icon is more successful than ever,” said Dr. Gunnar Güthenke, head of the off-road product group at Mercedes-Benz. “The production of 300,000 G-Class models is an impressive milestone. The team which has contributed substantially to this success includes employees who have been part of the story of the G-Class for 38 years. We have enjoyed decades of successful cooperation with Magna Steyr in the production of the G-Class.”
