Editor’s Note: The BlueRibbon Coalition sent out this note regarding an open house for the Upper Little Deschutes Restoration Project in Oregon. Details on the date and location are below.
The Crescent Ranger District invites you to an open house on May 23, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for continued discussion on the Upper Little Deschutes Restoration Project. The Forest Service has recently completed the 30-day scoping for the project (February 01 through March 10, 2017) and they would like to meet and discuss your comments or gain additional ideas on riparian enhancement, the sustainable transportation system, sustainable recreation, and provide additional details on instream structure placement, illegal bridge removal, diversion ditch closure, meadow enhancement as well as any other areas of concern you may have.
The meeting will be held at the Crescent Community Club, 420 Crescent Cut-off Road, Crescent, OR 97733. The meeting will consist of a brief Forest Service presentation of the project and then smaller group break-out sessions to more accurately capture any additional information you may have.
The district is also planning a field trip to the project area on June 22, 2017 from 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m. and would like your ideas on where the stops should be to discuss issues. There will be a signup sheet at the open house. If you cannot attend the open house, but would like to attend the field trip, please let them know.
It would be most helpful if you would RSVP to Lillian Cross, Writer/Editor at (541) 433-3239 or lilliancross@fs.fed.us by the 19th of May, 2017 on whether you plan to attend the open house. You may also call the front desk to sign up for the field trip at 541-433-3200.
