The Can-Am accessories group recently unveiled a new product for ATV owners looking to hit the snow. The new Apache Backcountry Track System for Can-Am ATVs help tackle “deep backcountry snow and challenging winter conditions.”
Can-Am says the new track system feature 2-inch lugs for superior traction, and according to Can-Am it features the industry’s largest contact patch, thanks to its 13.5-inch front track and 14-inch rear track. The frame and rail configuration is designed to spread weight evenly on the snow for great traction in deep snow. In a press release for the new tracks, Can-Am says, “Superior control when turning, braking and side-hilling means Can-Am ATV owners can confidently climb higher, get deeper and even go off the beaten path during their winter off-road adventures.”
Can-Am says the installation for the system is fairly simple, meaning owners can make the swap from tires to track in a reasonable amount of time. Of course, the track system is only designed for winter use. The Apache Backcountry Track System retails for $5,349.99, and it require the Apache 360 Backcountry Mounting Kit (sold separately for $649.99). The track kit will be available fall of 2017.
