MEDINA, Minn. — Polaris RZR today recently it has partnered with veteran racer and radio host Jim Beaver to create the new Polaris RZR Star Car program, which will give four celebrity guests a taste of off-road racing during select Best in the Desert races.
Beaver and action-sports start Jolene Van Vugt will take turns co-driving with a host of exciting celebrity guests in an IMG Motorsports race-modified 2017 Polaris RZR XP4 Turbo EPS, which can achieve top speeds of close to 100 mph. The identity of the first guest racer will be announced next week in advance of the first Star Car event at the Mint 400 in Las Vegas, March 2-5.
“We are excited to partner with Jim Beaver and Jolene Van Vugt to share this experience of a lifetime with celebrities new to off-road racing,” said Matt Boone, Polaris RZR Marketing Manager. “Jim and Jolene are great ambassadors for our brand. And we’ve invited celebrity racers who enjoy going big in everything they do – so we think they’re going to have an absolute blast.”
“I’m amped to race this all new Polaris RZR in Best in the Desert with my good friend Jolene this year,” said Jim Beaver, whose Jim Beaver Motorsports team will prepare and operate the Polaris RZR Star Car. “IMG Motorsports did an insane build on this RZR and we can’t wait to pull the cover off this car! I’m just as excited to announce our first guest driver for the Mint and I’m looking forward to bringing some other amazing guests along, too. It’s like my radio show: you never know who we’re going to have with us – you just know it’s going to be amazing.”
